A satisfying end for an anime/manga adaptation that feels like a short and complete sci-fi novel for young adults/teens. Without spoiling either the show and movie, the premise of the story is that a young man, Kaina, and his elderly caretakers seem to be the only people left on the Canopy (a sort of surface layer high above the world of the story) until a girl, Ririha appears from below. Having only his intuition and ability to read fragments of an ancient language, Kaina is pulled into quite literal world changing events. While not being an overly complex sci-fi story, its straightforward story is definitely one ofits stronger points with the mystery of the world and setting helping to push it to its conclusion. The main characters are enjoyable to follow with a good supporting cast to help them along. Overall character development is a bit sparse, but the necessary parts are there after certain events and motivations. The music is surprisingly great, hitting all the right beats at the right scenes. The 3D isn't anything amazing, but I believe it works fine and fits for this production.

If you want a short and simple series, I would recommend watching this from start to finish.
If you're a Nihei fan, I recommend watching this for a lighter story and don't expect a production as good as the 3D BLAME movie.
