Review of Gushing over Magical Girls

Mahou Shoujo ni Akogarete is not a 7.6 out of 10. There is no convincing me that this is even remotely on the level of Ishuzoku Reviewers, which has a 7.4 out of 10. I didn't even hate this anime, but seeing the glaze going on for it is insane. At best this is a 5/10. The anime is a Temu Madoka Magica, it's nothing special. The first half of the series is a slog and gets better in the second half. Unfortunately, there isn't much going on for a story development. It's 13 episodes of magical girls,and softcore hentai scenes. Again, no hate, but let's be real, this is extremely overrated.

Animation 6/10
- This is as basic as it gets, with 2 or 3 scenes where Utena looks bad ass.
Sound 6/10
- Nothing of significance comes to mind, mid OP/ED, Utena has a good VA though.
Story 1/10
- There is no story. I wish there was some substance to Venalita, give us something. I guess now that S2 is in the making, they can expand on Venalitas ambition, which could be interesting. As for S1 though, this is rough.
Characters 5/10
- Utena is a great MC, but I didn't connect to anyone else in the series.
Enjoyment 4/10
- I was extremely bored from episodes 1-7, but 8-13 were definitely better.

I can't encourage people to spend 4 hours on this show. However, considering the type of show it is, It's not terrible, or completely unwatchable.
