Review of given

This was a really good BL adaptation. As a Fujoshi, the fluffiness and cuteness of this one is really amazing. It's so fluffy that I want to cry. It's not really a "groundbreaking" BL like what most people say. It's true that it has the gay acceptance theme in one episode but there is a lot more better BL that portrayed this acceptance. It's not "groundbreaking" but it's really good. About the music, this anime is in the music genre and it lived up to its genre. The music is so good that I can hear the instrumentals when singing in acapella in the shower. Themusic Mafuyu wrote for Yuki made me cry. The lyrics gives me pain (uff ;-;). But the real deal here is the opening. To be honest, shounen ai opening music never dissapointed me. Even though super lovers was creepy, the opening was just too good to stop watching. I'm not saying that Given was creepy but you get the point of shounen ai opening music being good if I use super lovers as an example. Back to the topic, the opening is just too good that I can't put it into words. I mean, one part is just rock then becomes calm then the guitar lead comes on and it's rock again. And the visuals with the opening gives me PAINNNNN. The beach Mafuyu was staring at, and Yuki hugging Mafuyu then a guitar string break brings me depression. I'm crying, my heart is aching while typing this review. The Ed is more calm and brings me hope so that's good. The session song ost was really good, like, TUN TUN TURUNTUNTUN.

So the characters... Let's start with uenoyama, this bicth taught our bitch Mafuyu the guitar so 10 points. Uenoyama as a character from a BL anime, tbh, he used to be the straightest guy in BL I've ever seen but then Mafuyu's cuteness just bent his straightness. I love how he transitioned from straight to gay, I've seen a lot of BLs that makes the seme really straight but for me uenoyama's straight to gae is the only one that flowed smoothly.

The uke of this BL is Mafuyu and let me just say, WE MUST PROTECT THIS BITCH. He is just too pure and fluffy to be hurt like that. Yuki, why must you literally kill yourself for Mafuyu? I know that isn't the only reason but why? My bitch doesn't deserve PAINNNNN. I'm just glad that Mafuyu's shyness isn't caused by some sexual assault cause I'm tired of that crap especially in BL. I get it, the guy looks like a woman and he is also cute af but why the assault? I like this author. He also is really calm and cute so >-<. Seeing my boi get fricked up that winter brings me pain and his relationship with his dead bf was also cute and fluff fluff so I'm sad :^(. Overall, Mafuyu gives me fluff fluff depression.

The drummer and the bassist are gay so let's move on to the story. The story brings me PAINNNNN. The flow of the story is quite good for an anime with 11 episodes. Yes, sometimes it feels rush but it's still good.

So I'm just waiting for a Ten Count adaptation and I'll be complete. That 6 lovers thing ain't gonna come up sooner or later so I pray to the fujoshi gods to make it happen.
