Review of Don't Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro
My review of Don’t Toy With Me, Miss Nagatoro Animation: 09/10. The art style in this show is great. There are no fancy over-the-top scenes that take a fuck ton of masterfully done animation to pull off but every scene, facial express and subtly has a certain Je ne sai quoi that keeps me glued to the screen. While some scenes, like those involving noodle toro, seem cheap on the surface level but they have a comedic effect that allows me to look past their simplicity. For that reason, this gets a 9 Characters: 9/10. Nagatoro starts so incredibly rough in this show I was immediatelyabout to drop this into the pit of despair, BUT, the level of hype around it made me take a second look and holy shit am I glad I did. If you slept on these characters I weep for your soul. Senpai starts with so little spine I was concerned he might have scoliosis, but through his interactions with Nagatoro and her friends, he slowly becomes more comfortable around others, poking his head out of his shell little by little.
Nagatoro starts off an absolute chad and slowly melts into the blushing mess she is at the end and it's so sweet I got a fucking cavity. Thanks, Obama.
Plot: 9/10. I absolutely love the whole enemies to lovers trope and this show is a textbook example of one. It only gets better in the manga so there's that. (Go read it please pray)
Music 8/10. The OP SLAPS but gets a little repetitive for my tastes however some of the accompanying music fits the mood so well I am finding a new appreciation for scenes I already enjoyed. It's not a musical masterpiece or a show surrounded by music so it doesn't get a perfect score here but it's pretty damn close.
Rewatchability: 10/10. I want everyone I know to sit down and binge this show with me idc how many times I need to see it. I will be re reading the manga :soonTMtkc:
Enjoyment: 10/10. My sweet little babies are so much fun to watch and HOLY SHIT THAT END CREDIT SCENE!!! MELTED MY DAMN MIND
