Review of Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead
Going into this show blind, I wasn't expecting very much beyond the fact that it looked like an anime version of the Zombieland franchise with its supposed absurdity rather than horror. And although bits and pieces aligned with that assumption, I wasn't prepared for the dive into toxic work culture and the dreams that adults feel pressured to leave behind. Now, did this show execute the discussion of those themes perfectly? Not at all, but the fact that it was present in a zombie anime of all things was quite the welcome surprise. Because there's no better time to live in the moment when yourmoment could end abruptly.
Overall, I had a good time watching as a silly little time suck but I don't picture myself rewatching it again. So if you're looking for some slapstick with little touches of mediocre depth, you might give this one a try when you're bored.
