Review of Dan Da Dan
Dandadan is an anime that explore the existence of aliens and ghosts from a different angle. Aliens from a planet come to earth because they do not have any female species and want to take the female reproductive organs from humans to develop their own female species. A very new take on an idea that has been spike of so many times. Plot: Even though it is a dark anime, the first season is perfectly done to ensure you know the characters before the plot itself while providing you enough to anticipate for more. The story has a good balance between humour and action, a good portrayalof teenage life and people discovering new things.
It makes a good effort to give little back stories into the characters, making sure they are hilarious but have a deeper meaning in the story. The story shows you just enough with well paced fights, meaning to actions that have been done or will happen and well thought out scene placements.
So the plot gets a 9/10 from me.
Characters:
Takakura Ken, or Okarun as we know, is a great protagonist. A boy with no friends who is interested in aliens and alien findings. As a protagonist, we see how he isn't all powerful and gradually learns to gain power. He, by no sense, is shown to be perfect and that makes him a great character. We grow with him, see him put the effort to get better.
Ayase Momo is our secondary protagonist. A girl who lost her parents and lives with her grandmother who is a spirit medium. From what we have seen of her, she is done really well, relatable, says things which she regrets, which who hasn't. She learns on the go, is shown to be very straightforward but knowledgeable and a person who knows how to apply her knowledge the right way.
Overall, the characters are pretty well done except for Aira, who was annoying despite her sad backstory.
So the characters get a 8/10 from me.
Animation Style:
It's pretty good, nothing much to talk about it. So animation gets a 9.5/10 from me.
Music:
The opening is so fabulous, it needs to be studied. Apart from that I didn't feel like there was much to the music so the music get a 7/10 from me.
So after the deep dive, I give the show a 7.5/10.
