Lies & Kisses · review
The only thing in the world I could want more out of this brilliant piece of work, is that an anime accompanies it with as much fresh insight, comedy and lack of cliché that made me enjoy this one so much. Yaoi tends to fall into a little box after a while, of whimpering uke's and dominating seme's, rape-turned-sex situations, shota obsessions and general annoyances that start making each manga feel like the next. This was so very different. There was nothing clichéd about it; it was well-plotted, very surprising, heartfelt, amazing. The characters, particularly Haru, were amazing. I only wished it was longer to perhapsadd depth. Don't be turned off by the idea or the summary. If you like yaoi and want something different, read it, you will not regret it.
