Not Simple is such a brutal and depressing story. Though it contains fewer than 15 chapters, the storytelling is complete and satisfyingly sad. I can't help but empathize and feel deeply for the main character. What he went through is something no one should ever have to experience. I wouldn't even wish such things on my worst enemies. Knowing that what happened to him could easily happen in real life makes me lose faith in humanity. The story is truly sad and heartbreaking. However, the art of this manga is below average, it looks as if each panel was created and edited using only MS Paint. This manga could have receivedbetter recognition and a higher rating if only the art matched the quality of the story. Sadly, it didn’t.

The main character's journey is hopeless and incredibly tragic, but I loved it—even though it broke my heart.
