This is a SPOILER-FREE review made by a truly fan of entire series. Maybe u guys find many 10/10 by me. The reason? This is a masterpiece. Anything less than 10 is an affront to this masterpiece. I lost count of how many times I cried, and I laughed during the first two seasons ... and it wasn’t different in this film. Probably must have happened to you too. I wait a lot of time after this movie to make this review, waiting the extra stuff of blu-ray and building up the courage to face the end of one of my favorite anime of all time. This movie is an anime film which concludes the story from the previously adapted two anime seasons of Saekano light novel series. This movie brings closure to the story by providing an adaptation of the later volumes of the novels, mainly volume 11-13, while also presenting an original epilogue of sorts.
You’re prepared to say goodbye to Tomoya, Megumi, Utaha-senpai, Eriri, Michuru, Izumi, Iori, Akane, Toki, Sonoko, Echika and Ranko? I didn’t.
As this film is produced by CloverWorks, the animation and artwork, while nowhere near the visual fidelity of something like Kyoto Animation or Makoto Shinkai’s works, are nonetheless of a solid quality.
The first two seasons ends perfectly with this movie. For one guy like me that begin reading the series in 2012, I wait 7 years for this movie, and I have to say: worth the wait. Really worth the wait. I can't find words to express my sadness after this film. What u mean “sadness”? When I saw “truly” fan in the begin of this review, means truly…I’m very depressed after the end of Saekano with this movie.
It will take a long time to have something like this work. I could say that there will never be anything like Saekano, but “NEVER” a very strong word in the japonese industry so we wait.
10/10 and farewell Saekano.
