Review of Gangsta.
So... this series is a shining example of how to fuck up a good series. Art is Really Good, story is interesting despite being rather dark, there is a lot of effort put into sound, and all characters that get more than 10 minutes screentime total thorought the series can be sympathised with. So, how do you fuck up this much potential to get a measly 5 overall score? Straight from Manglobe, a recipe to turn a story into shit before other studio picks it up and makes it interesting: -create interesting universum -ask a few questions about morality and human nature -create several subplots to thicken the suspension -ask more question -begin aclimax somewhere around 2 episodes before cour end
-ask more questions and subplots in the meantime
-make a massive cliffhanger at the end of the final episode, saving all the answering and survival of protagonists for next season
-bankrupt
sigh. this anime IS dark, the protagonists die, not on Higurashi level maybe, but it is a dark series about drugs, prostitution, and lots of blood, so if you're feeling too happy and be left with no ending, try this shit series. Condolences to the manga author who agreed to let this studio fuck this story so badly. or maybe he's into that, manga itself isn't all roses.
