The anime's ideaology can be summed up with the "Oh you're a villain. You're just not a SUPER villain" meme from Megamind. Despite that, I cannot deny the therapeutic affects of Accelerator embarrassing weaker villains being a villain himself. The plot, music and animation exceeded my expectations for a spinoff, but most of the enjoyment comes from how deep Accelerator is as a character and how much it took advantage of the source material's world building while adding original elements like Esther and her necromancy. Basically it's the perfect show if you just want to see Academy City's first-ranked kick some ass.
