Amnesia seems like a pretty polarizing anime; so hopefully my perspective will be of some use. I fully understand why some people don't like this anime. It might come off as your typical reverse harem girl fantasy. Although, to be quite frank, there are plenty of far more annoyingly hyper-sexual harem boy fantasies out there. Either way, I understand why the reverse harem aspect causes it to lose some appeal. Despite that, Amnesia is a genuinely good anime. Is it the best anime ever? No. Does it have its flaws? Yes. But it is good. For one, the art in Amnesia is one of itsmost enticing features. The bright colors and unique fashions really put the viewer in another realm.
Furthermore, these male characters aren't flat, one dimensional beings who only exist to fawn after the woman. If anyone is one dimensional, it is the leading lady (she comes off as a little bit lifeless). A major part of the story is discovering the man beyond appearances. These characters are dynamic individuals. They are genuinely interesting.
Lastly, I mainly watched this show for its story line, not the cute boys (although, they were a bonus).
Every step of this story had me curious and interested. The viewer may be disoriented at first. The story line is a little confusing as it deals with multi-dimensional travel. But, that's part of what draws you in. Eventually, when you piece it all together, the whole confusing bit is more than worth while and comes off as a mystery rather than poor story telling.

Ultimately, Amnesia is a colorful adventure with a relevant message: Remember that every "cute boy" is only human and not everything is as it seems.
