Sword Art Online explores the theme of "getting trapped in a virtual world". Our main protagonist, originally a beta player is trapped inside of the very game he was testing. Sword Art Online's story and premise is interesting, but it fails to execute this in a correct manner. With the story originally focused on the threat of death in real life, the story only kept to this tone up until episode 10. After that, no one really dies and the threat then goes away. Overall, the story had a good concept, but it was taken in the wrong direction. Romance > Action. The art style forthis anime is actually very good. With fight scenes generally looking fabulous. The OSTs for Sword Art Online add tension to every fight and situation. I still listen to these OSTs every now and then. As for character design... yeah. I'd say Klein is the greatest of the crew. The main heroine "loses her touch" after episode 14 due to "complications". Other than that, I feel like this anime is actually okay.

TLDR: Executed poorly but still alright to watch, art & soundtracks are actually good, very pretty fight scenes, and more of a romance towards the second quarter of the anime with action on the side.

Decently enjoyed but it had it's flaws (like every show) 6/10 Rating
