Review of Dororo
Going in all I knew about this show is it was based on an earlier works. After the season finish and hearing other anitubers giving praise, i figured i give it a shot. Some will compare it to Samurai Shamboo in turns of style and pacing which i will not deny. The majority of the art and animation is a good 7. However when the story slows down but still needs action then it gets sloppy. Lucky those are rare. During the climax battle the action scene reminds me of Naruto vs Sasuke fight in turns of choreography and smooth action. If you like action youwill enjoy this.
The story is about a boy trying to regain his body parts from 12 demons. It is a simple road, episodic arc i would expect from it. As the story goes we don't wonder if he gets his body backs. but if he will turn into a demon himself. Will he turn the people close him demons through his quest. We understand his views but also understand why the enemies views are not entirely wrong either. The characters, design, the art and animation work very well together majority of the time.
The only negative parts is you could see some budgets cuts in parts of the show that didn't have action scenes (which is ok).
There is a filler episode meant to light the mood without dealing the plot. I'm not mad with the episode.
In the final climax, after certain characters return or died or survived, it ended in one of those bittersweet moments you would expect of this anime.
Overall, it isn't the masterpiece some were expecting but it still a good show that begins and ends in its 24 episodes.
I give it an Overall score = 8 points ... would give a 9 on my happier days
