Review of Fire Force

The beginning was intriguing and pulled me in. The art is beautiful and I got attached to the main character, Shinra, very quickly. But the pacing of the anime is awful. One moment the characters will be fighting a main boss, and the next episode they will jump straight into the next one, completely forgetting about the previous events. And then they hit you with random filler episodes every blue moon that really just don't make sense, only being there for fan service. Some parts of the anime that explained important backstory or plot was just long dialogue for a few minutes, making the viewer stareat the same animated scene. It wasn't disappointed, I was just confused. I didn't expect a whole ass lecture, staring at a semi black screen for five minutes in an anime I thought would be amazing.

The anime had a lot of potential and it's a shame that it was ruined by awkward fan service and poor execution.

If you enjoy fan service or you hate fillers, I guess you'd enjoy this anime. Personally, the only thing good about this anime is the interesting character designs and the art.
