Review of A Place Further Than The Universe
I think this anime provides a decent story about breaking out of your comfort zone and growing up. It's a nice message, but the story itself wasn't very entertaining for me. There were occasionally some very touching moments, and those were the saving grace of the series, imo. I considered dropping the anime after the first few episodes, but decided to stick with it because of the good reviews and the fact that it was only 13 episodes. It did get better toward the end, especially in the last two episodes, but not by enough to have a strong impact on my overall opinion ofthe series.
The art was fine. Nothing spectacular, but nothing to complain about. I give it slightly above average because, from what I noticed, the art was pretty consistent.
The sound was pretty good. I think the voice acting was done well. The music was pretty simple and lacked much diversity, but it was used effectively.
The characters were pretty well fleshed out and a couple of them (ones that needed it) had good character progression. I liked most of them and usually enjoyed the interactions between them.
This series failed to keep my interest and I would not care to watch it again. It wasn't torturous to watch, though, and it did have some positive aspects to it, so I give it a 4/10 overall.
