School Kill · review

School Kit is a hilarious one-shot. It has 9 pages without a single line of dialogue, and the story focuses on a nerd who is in love with a popular girl and wants to confess his feelings by singing her a song. Why the hell would he do that while being almost completely naked? I have no idea, but it’s funny :)) The girl laughs at him and then leaves with a much more handsome guy who is most likely her boyfriend. The protagonist gets angry and tries to attack the guy, and because of that he gets a big kick in the face and fallsdown. But it’s not that bad, at least he manages to see the underwear of the girl, so in the end he still comes out as the winner, judging by his happy face and the bandana that says “You Win.”

As depressing as the ending should be, I actually found the conclusion amusing. I’m not exactly sure what the author’s intended effect on the reader was. I mean, how am I supposed to feel? I’ll assume I’m supposed to be amused, because honestly that’s how I feel. In the end, it’s an experience… I understand why someone might consider this one-shot trash. The story is absurd and we get a full panty shot, seemingly completely random (although I think it was necessary to create a bittersweet comedic conclusion).

I don’t regret reading this; or rather, seeing it, since there are no lines of dialogue.

It was a fun read.
