Spoiler warning

This review may discuss plot details.

It starts with a guy who thinks he's completely normal. And it reminds me a bit of your name. I never read the light novel of your name or manga or anything but it gave the exact same vibe. It's a guy with a friend who's just his shallow friend. Then he sees this girl, this classmate. And ofcourse you already know they're gonna become closer with eachother. There's a supernatural part in it with the tunnel A big theme of this light novel was time. It's about time and it has multiple big lines in it about time. One of the big ones was abouttime. On the one hand you have Kaoru looking back in time, wishing to get back the time he had. And for that he wants to get into the tunnel. And he doesn't really hesitate because he frankly doesn't feel he has much to lose. Ofcourse there's Anyu, but he since he's been wanting his little sister back so bad he still wants to go inside the tunnel

I think the way in the first part Anyu & Kaoru's chemistry is, is really interesting. I love when there's a romance that's subtle. It all starts with Kaoru breaking up a fight with Anyu and Koharu. Then Anyu just happens to follow Kaoru and she wants to work together to go into the tunnel. And they work together then there's a time skip. And the author did it really sneaky by not really showing anything different between them, but they have Kaoru's friend Shouhei comment how he thinks they're a couple and they both don't really mind it, so yeah they're now a couple all of a sudden while not really much changed between them

The tunnel is really interesting with Kaoru how he keeps going there. He meets his sister and eventually realizes this isn't real. How he needs to move forward. And that sort of line has been a recurring theme throughout the entire novel. What was the most interesting is when he walked through the tunnel and was like 'no I already went this far I can't go back now'

It's not the most complicated novel in the least. The characters aren't very complex. Especially Anyu isn't, she likes writing manga then becomes a manga author. She looks up to Kaoru then realizes she likes him then abandons everything to go into that tunnel with him

What did speak to me was the gradualness of the novel. I could really feel the passion of the author written through this book. The ideas he gave and how Kaoru's journey went written through the pen of the author as he came to choose what he did.

> "at the end of the day, there's no one right way to live our lives. All we can do is pick whatever path suits us best, then run dwon it as fast as we can to see how far we can get in what little time we have"

That's the main theme of the book and I think the author did a great job in conveying that
