The BS Situation of Tougetsu Umidori · review
I usually do not review the books I read, though I felt like doing it for this one solely from seeing how little people are in the stats page. For context I've only read volume one, as volume two only became available in my area last week, before I even knew what this was all about. If I were to describe the entirety of The BS Situation of Tougetsu Umidor in one word, it would be weird. The story takes so many turns and each one bewildered me little by little, the very start making me think it would be about finding who stole Nara's pencils, then rightafter that it is about how lies manifest and can change the whole world through supernatural powers.
Since I'm not spoiling the story, there's not much to talk about other than something I did not like about this light novel.
I feel like this story would fit a less descriptive medium, like the manga adaptation it got.
Why you wonder? The story unfolding here isn't deep enough to warrant complex explanation and long conversations.
Maybe I missed the point, but that is how I felt while reading through it, some scenes were way longer than they needed to be, and in others there is a ton of words being blurted out, which makes the explanations and conversations unecessarily profuse.
Though aside from that one problem I had with this tale, I do like it.
Not only is the premise and content both unique, that being lies manifesting as entirely new people that live to carry out and make those lies true, along with a main character that cannot lie no matter what.
I haven't tried out the manga, as I said I'm only done with volume one, but I feel like the manga could be a better option, assuming it is a good adaptation.
Despite the thing I didn't like about the story, I think I could still recommend this if it sounds interesting to you.
