How to Use a Returner · review
One of the best MCs in this type of genre story Firstly, there are reviews saying the MC is some kind of psychopath, but this clearly shows they only read the beginning. The MC starts off as an edgy, selfish brat. However this series has some of the biggest character development and depth for an MC, because he gradually and realistically becomes more and more noble, realizing the value of people around him and while still mischievous and greedy, starts showing real insecurity towards his own value to the party and thoughtful consideration and care to his friends and lovers. It's great to see a charactermature and become a better person, especially since he realizes how this is actually a better way to live.
The way the MC interacts with the other characters is uniquely good. For example one of his lovers is a Yandere girl, and unlike many MCs who are just afraid of Yanderes or mistreat them, he has a genre-savvy understanding of this and basically tries to balance things out to make sure she is happy and not jealous. He actually "controls" her problems rather than just being like "Ahhh this pretty girl is obsessed with me I'm so scared". He's in an arranged(?) political marriage with a Barbarian/Merc woman, and he has an actual healthy adult relationship with her - something very rare in Manwha. Finally he has a "soulmate" kind of character, who's just as mischievous and scheming as him, and their chemistry is off the charts, they really complete each other
So one of the rare cases of male romance being written realistically and intelligently and an MC behaving like a normal adult.
Not to mention he's got a sense of humor, is observant, has mood changes.
Anyways yapped to long about this, I just wanted to praise the MC in particular. If you're like me and a little tired of the cookie-cutter "Stoic, cold, humorless Manwha MC who only cares about getting skills, items and training and has no depth" then this comic is a real breath of fresh air!
In terms of everything else, it is a pretty typical action/adventure story about guilds and video-game esq skills and classes etc.
