Review of Frieren: Beyond Journey's End
MASTERPIECE. thats all i gotta say It is the kind of anime where, after you watched and finished it, it will still linger on your mind for a few days (or even weeks, in my case). whenever i ride my bike to go to work and i saw sunrise, or sunset along the highway, some scenes from frieren will flashed across my mind lol (like for real, no lies) And whenever people asked u like, "hey, i heard there's this popular anime called frieren journey or something. Do u know about it, wdyt?" Literally the first word that will cross your mind as an answer wouldbe: "BEAUTIFUL" another words that would pop up probably: "STUNNING", "BREATHTAKING", and "EMOTIONAL".
Why? Because:
- the theme of the story DEEPLY revolves around perception towards time and life, regrets and reflection, and keep moving on in life.
- the visual animation (especially the world/the background arts) was stunning and (again) BEAUTIFUL. Very much like fairy tale vibes. The char design are just okay, but they have their own charms.
- the character development are also great. While it is not fully realistic, but still somewhat relatable and make sense, not too excessed or overly unreal.
- btw altho it is mainly adventure + slice of life, some animation in the fight scenes are so intense that u will forgot this is not an action-focused genre anime (definitely better than harry potter lul)
- and lastly, the ost was so beautiful and melancholic which touches your heart n soul, it was composed by Evan call (the same composer of VIOLET EVERGARDEN) it also have a few epic music (which is my fav type of music).
Thats it folks, i hope this can be helpful.
