Review of Dan Da Dan

I initially skipped Dan Da Dan. The style seemed strange and I find than anime that "everyone is talking about" are often just hype. But, the season was over, my list of current anime was dwindling, so I decided to give Dan Da Dan a try. I binged it in two days. The animation is fantastic, it's a mix of different styles - even in the same scene. The action is fast-paced and insane and often makes zero sense. The plots are, er, nuts. And bananas. Just plain crazy. It's like Chainsaw Man and Mashle had a love child that lives on psychedelic mushrooms. Aliens,Yokai, possessed objects, temples, awkward boy trope and off-the-wall camera angles are just the start. Grandma that looks and acts anything but, typical "will she fall for him or not" drama. Just when it gets to the pace of a traditional romance anime - bam. Something totally bizarre explodes on the scene and we're off again. Want a depressed Emo Yokai? He's here. 120 mk Yokai race? Yep. So much more, but that would mean spoilers.

One of the few animes that can have you laughing lou loud.
