This is the only anime that treats its main protagonist like a side character. Strangely, it gives more focus to the supporting characters, making them feel like the real main leads. The most frustrating example is the protagonist’s sister, **Ayaka Shigure**. She only appears when her lover, **Sandman**, is in danger. Meanwhile, her younger brother, **Shigure Eiji** (the MC), is out there risking his life fighting **Zeravire** (the enemy robot) to find him. Ayaka never reveals her identity to Eiji during the fight, even though it could have been the last time they saw each other. What’s worse, she doesn’t stop her brother from fighting Zeravire either.Like she just doesn’t care. And only at the very end, when Sandman is about to commit suicide, does she finally reveal her identity to Eiji again. If she didn’t want to reveal it earlier, at least she could have warned him to be careful. But nope, nothing at all. Honestly, it’s so annoying.
This anime makes me feel bad for Eiji as the MC. So many things feel unfair in the storyline. Still, the anime isn’t that bad overall. It’s decent in animation and concept but way too frustrating because of the character handling and their relationships.
**My rating: 6/10.**
If you’re looking for a mecha anime to watch, **don’t choose this one**. You’ll probably just get annoyed and dislike the story, character development, and relationships.
**Additional note:**
The only real supporting characters for the MC are his school friends. **Respect to them** — at least someone truly cares about Eiji.
