What an absolute masterpiece. A perfect balance between action, drama, comedy, philosophy and life lessons all packed in such a short amount of time yet managing to stay compeling and engaging every step of the way. To me, theres no low-point which is not something many anime or series can boast. Director did an amazing job as did the music director and everyone involved. The animation is almost on par with movies even though its a TV series which is very welcome addition, you will notice backgrounds shift and move when in most anime they remain lifeless and still. Even background characters that fill theworld seem to have life and purpose when in most anime they just fill the space. Such attention to detail is one of the main characteristics of Sousou no Frieren and its found on every single part of the anime, from story to music, to artwork.

I haven't looked up the producers and people who worked on it but I would say it feels like top tier talent came together for this to become reality. It even takes the whole trope of timelessness and turns it into a strength when in most stories it becomes a weakness, not to mention how it subtly establishes and sets up the world with its rules in ways that make sense (something that most anime in the genre fail to do).

The series sticks with you long after you watch it and for good reason. Regardless of your taste I truly believe Frieren is a must watch.
