Review of ReLIFE
Its premise itself is enough to draw me in. ReLIFE is a breath of fresh air whilst containing familiar tropes in a romance of school of life because of how extremely endearing the characters are and how quickly they crept into my heart. People will argue that it's not at all special. Yes, it is true that there is nothing new about many of the elements here but the way it delivers on the characters and their interactions is what the appealing thing is. Our main character, Arata, is particularly great because of what we are able to get from him. Most people in Japan,I believe, think extremely badly of "NEETs" or hikikomori's. But, we don't really know what happened to them. We judge too quickly. From Arata's perspective, we were able to understand and get to know him as a person instead of as the "half-NEET" he was first introduced as. He shows that struggles in life does not automatically make a person bad or detestable.
The series features many genuine and relatable lessons from life's ups and downs to the complexity in the simplicity of falling in love. ReLIFE is something that I will recommend to those who want to witness and can appreciate a short journey of a guy changing others as he learns to change himself. It is heart-warming as well as hilarious. A great gem!
