Review of Devilman: Crybaby
Devilman Crybaby was one heck of a trainride, in just 10 short episodes. It took me a while to get into it, I actually ended up restarting it several times over the course of about 7 months because I've heard such good things about it. About 5 days ago I gave it another chance, and this time I really got into it. I binged watched it in four days and the final three episodes made me cry like a child. Every time I listen to the final song from the soundtrack album, "Crybaby", my heart gets heavy. This feeling may go away over time since Ionly recently finished it, but still.
The art style is fairly simple, and it bothered me at first but I learned to appreciate it over time. The OST is wonderful, and I love nearly everything in it. During the final three episodes, everything was organized perfectly, I was never confused and I was able to enjoy them to the fullest extent.
It's rare for animes to make me cry as much as I did during Devilman Crybaby, the only other one being Death Note. (...sensing a pattern?) DMCB really took an outstanding turn for me since the first episode was odd to watch at first.
I completely recommend Devilman Crybaby, unless that's not your thing.
