Review of Sword Art Online

Sword art online, to me at least, was a very well done anime during its release. It through real people playing an incredible game only to trapped within that particular world. Like any MMORPG, you can either join a group or go solo. The story is pretty simple. Players can't log out of game because the creator is an nutbag and in the process kills thousands. Then there's an overpowered protagonist that not only hardcore, but also wins the hearts of the girls he meets, he falls for only one, finds out who is really behind it and defeats them. The story is split up intotwo arcs: Aincard and fairy dance. the first arc has 12 while the second arc has 13 making up total the 25 episodes.

The art and sound design is okay. There are some moments were the animation gets strange at times, but there is a good deal of cgi (the skull reaper for instance) and hand-drawn animation is done well. The characters are mediocre due to some being overpowered in some cases and the romance is laid on not to thick.

Overall, Sword art online is an anime I would recommend only to those looking into the isekai genre, other than that, it is very good.
