Review of Parasyte: The Maxim

Interesting anime premise but story is sometimes strung by author in too unnatural and theatrical way to take it seriously. About the middle of season story falls apart and becomes too inconsistent. It gradually picks up back again but at the end it becomes too stupid to care about. Not much could be said otherwise, everything else about the show is decent and pass average bar. Overall it is enjoyable to watch but inconsistency took heavy toll on story. All that reflection on what is human and what is not is nice and all but it gets lost in endless monologues. The stupidity/inconsistency and theatrical performancedoes not allow to take it seriously. Preaching in monologues is common theme here for overarching ideas and it really worsens quality of the work.

I would say it could be 9 but all the preaching and lame reflection worsen it to 6-7.
