Review of Noragami Aragoto
As always, I usually come back to an anime one year later to see how it held up. Noragami Aragoto had little change, but there are definitely some things that I had missed my last watch, so let's talk about that. Noragami Aragoto! An anime about a gods, betrayals, and ghosts. It follows the story of Yato and Bishamon as they clash sword and whips for the last time as Bishamon learns the real reason of why she hates Yato. And of course Hiyori is back with her tail as she saves Yato and intervenes in godly quarrels. And Kofuku is still best girl. Anyways, the animeis split between two "arcs." The first one is the fight with Yato and Bishamon, the second is more on the masks and their true origins. But really, if I'm going to be honest, I loved the first half, while the second half felt majorly rushed. Honestly though, this anime desperately needed more episodes, it felt far too fast and not enough detail was drawn out of the second half, almost like I was cheated. The characters do improve over the first season, however. As we get to see Yukine learn more about himself and get stronger, and even Hiyori learn that she's not so special after all.
The sound and art were both pretty good, but then again nothing special. I really do enjoy the OP of this anime, and the art style is great, but sometimes reverts to that weird "mush" look that just doesn't go well with everything else. The details could have been better too.
But overall I'd say this anime still lives up the the hype, even though it felt rushed. I recommend you watch this one, but try not to binge watch this anime in one go; savor every episode and really soak it in, it's a good watch!
