What to say about _Gyo_... the animation was pretty well-done, but the character designs were meh (you can only look at the protagonist's jaggy little eyelashes and mirrored jaggy bangs for so long before getting tired of them), the plot was kind of stupid (why bother with a mechanistic explanation when you immediately start trying to transform it into a supernatural?), and so on. In general, even the cheesy live-action _Uzumaki_ was better, to say nothing of 'The Enigma of Amigara Fault'. So, a disappointment although I admire how the animation conveyed the viscerally disgusting creatures.
