Review of Fate/Zero

Fate/Zero is, in my opinion, one of the best places to start into Fate. They go into a lot more detail about the Holy Grail war and gives a good representation of how the Holy Grail Wars should work. The character building at first was a bit confusing but later down the line they go into a lot more detail into majority of the characters, either fleshing them out with their actions and how people respond to those actions or by having flashbacks that break your heart and make you sympathize with the otherwise emotionless characters. The characters have been worn down as mages andyou can see that they have become what mages should be in the Nasuverse, cold hearted exteriors with one reason to live. To obtain the Holy Grail and achieve their childish wishes. By far the best characters in this show are Kiritsugu and Kirei as they are fleshed out and expanded on the most out of the wide cast of characters. These 2 characters act as foils to each other, making them push for the Holy Grail even further. Kiritsugu and Kirei wouldn't be as good without one or the other not being in the story. On top of the entertaining story the animation from Ufotable is absolutely incredible. There's a contrast between the battles between the Servants and the battles between Magi. There's a fast and hard hitting feel the battles between Servants, hoping to outsmart their opponent while also gathering information on their enemy to learn their true name. The magi battles feel as quick as the servants battles but also have a less powerful feel to it. You can see and feel just how powerful the servants are, always leaving a trail of destruction in the environment when there's a fight. To conclude, I would recommend this series to anyone who enjoys good action with a compelling story who can stand minutes of exposition at a time.
