Review of Sword Art Online

SAO is a very controversial anime to pretty much the entire anime community and has gained mixed reception over the years, but to me I think it was actually enjoyable. The story was for the most part decent, it started off well in the Aincrad arc as you got to know how the game works, the consequences of dying in it and how people are coping in a virtual reality, but once it got to the Alfheim arc the story is still ok although there are certain elements introduced that drag it down a bit and there was even a point where there was a pacingissue, but honestly I liked the story mostly apart from a few hiccups.

The characters in my opinion are ok they weren't amazing, but they got the job done ok maybe some characters weren't used as often as they could've been which I will agree, but I still liked them. There is a relationship between Kirito and Asuna which I thought was decent not the best, but not the worst because I did feel invested in their relationship, the villains however could definitely have been less creepy and actually you know more like a villain instead of being Douchebags that are just a barrier for Kirito.
There is also one other thing that really annoyed me with a specific development for one of the characters, but I'm sure you'll find that out.

The artstyle was actually pretty good hell even beautiful at times when it showed its landscapes and even the monsters looked pretty good even though a few relied on CGI and there was something about the characters all having the same face shape or style, but that didn't annoy me in the slightest. The characters gear and weapons also looked pretty cool as well, but this is a VRMMORPG so you've gotta have cool gear to keep your players interested otherwise nobody would play it.

I loved the soundtrack whenever a battle sequence was happening and the battles themselves weren't too bad either they were certainly enjoyable.

Overall I think SAO was a very enjoyable anime despite there being flaws and some actually did annoy me it didn't really impact my opinion on the anime too much so if you're going to watch SAO you're either going to love or hate it, it really depends on your perspective
