Review of Sword Art Online
Hey guys, was it really all that bad? Sword art Online might be overrated but that doesn't mean you should go against the current and hate it. *note* I will only be talking about the first half. I agree with everyone else on arc 2: Dafuq was that. Also, if you're looking for a summary, read another review. ^_^ The anime series focused on enjoyment for the audience. If you read the light novels, you'll see that the SAO side stories were included as well. Along with that, they even fit in the main storyline without rushing. If you disliked the story, then go review on the lightnovel, not the anime. I can understand if you think that the story was a bit simple, but think about the audience that this is projected to. For the most part, people who watch SAO are children who haven't watched anime or have only watched shounen. SAO introduces the romance genre to many viewers out there. Also, if you've watched romance animes, you'll notice that this one doesn't have the cliche tsundere or childhood friend. The romance aspect is pulled off real well and is similar to that of reality.
On a final note, SAO is an enjoyable anime and isn't really meant for deep thinking. It might be overrated but it's still good. However, I do recommend you not to watch the 2nd half if you felt like the first was satisfying. That might ruin the experience for you.
