Review of Neon Genesis Evangelion
Evangelion The main appeal for me when it comes to Evangelion is the dark and depressing nature of the show I love the dark and depressing shit of the show and not many if any do it better than this the story is great no doubt about it but where does this anime truly shines for me and what makes it one of my favorites and one that I deem to be the best in its characters seeing these complex characters with so many layers to them trying to save the world while also dealing with their own internal conflict is amazing these are someseriously broken characters it makes for a very enjoyable watch to me easily some of the best-written characters in anime
this anime has a group of characters with some great depth all having an existential crisis another thing that makes Evangelion special is that it captures how an existential crisis feels very well the main three characters of the story Asuka Rie and Shinji are forced to pilot giant mechs to fight beings called angels also most of humanity is wiped so out these things make for a completely hopeless situation for the characters that made the characters explore nihilism the characters are so human very realistic I genuinely cared for the characters here I wanted to know what happened to them due to such things this show makes you feel nihilism and it conveys to you the essence of nihilism and the ending of the show took the nihilistic themes of the show to another level
this anime does it for me the story is very complex and requires your full attention because there are so many little details sprinkled throughout the episode there is so much lore behind everything every frame of the show going back and watching this anime I'm like damn I missed this I missed that there are just so many things that require your full attention like you got to pay attention to otherwise, you're going to miss them I love that about the anime
with that being said though patience because some of the episodes had me huh
the art style is so dark and fucked up which goes so well with the themes of the show
ost's were one of the best I have ever heard
at last, this anime is not for everyone it is for a more mature audience if you watch shonen all the time you probably won't understand what Evangelion is about all in all I still think this is one of the best anime I've ever watched
