All in all Durarara!!, as obscure as the name sounds, is actually one of the better animes to watch. At first I was turned off by how confusing and plot-less the story was, but after somehow managing to watch a third of it, everything really starts to kick into gear. Durarara!! is about many different people with many different lifestyles within the Tokyo district Ikebukuro, and surely enough the rich character development becomes the centerpiece of this anime's enjoyment as you unravel the truth each major character. Story: 7 As I mentioned above, there story was largely plot-less in the first third. This is not to saythis makes it a terrible terrible anime, just that its something you have to kind of push through. Honestly, if you were to ask me, "so whats it about?" I wouldn't be able to answer without giving you an essay. In the simplest words, Durarara!! is about 7-8 people whos' fates become cleverly intertwined.

Art: 8
Clean lines and soft colors. Good balance of dark colors--much of the settings in this anime are in the evening and at night.

Sound: 9
I am very impressed with the music. Music is unique, fun, and memorable. That's all you can ask for.

Character: 9
As I mentioned above, the characters are what make this anime great. Just to name a few, we have a couple of high school kids (the main characters), a Russian sushi chef, a mysterious "headless rider", and an inhumanly strong bartender. These characters not only make the district of Ikebukuro interesting, but make the anime exciting as well. Over the course of the anime, you get to unravel the pasts of each character, and take a trip into their struggles that shape them into who they are.

Enjoyment: 8
It's fun--plain and simple.

Overall: 8
Great anime with a lot of character depth. For those of you who've seen Baccano!, personally I don't think this anime is as good but you can definitely see Narita's unique writing style that makes the anime magically get really good by the end. Definitely worth a watch!
