Review of Motto To LOVE Ru
It is well known that I am an expert in ecchi anime. I consider myself a ‘guru’ of the genre. For that reason, I am ashamed that I have not completed watching the legendary saga ‘To Love Ru.’ At the time of writing these lines, I have finished the second season, and although more than 10 years have passed since its release, I do not intend to stop giving my review of this classic. I am struck by the fact that most reviews give higher ratings to the second season than to the first. The second season does not change much. Small episodes with sexy adventures with the protagonistsof the series.
However, the big difference with the first season is that here an episode does not tell a story, but rather three small stories per episode are told. This definitely helps the narrative because in the first season, especially from episode 15 onwards, there are episodes where the plot is stretched in a very forced way and one gets bored.
Here, the author sacrifices depth for quality. We see simpler stories, but of better quality than in the first season.
Other than that, there is not much change. The characters continue with their same concerns, their same jokes, and their same insecurities.
I would say that the only interesting episode is the last one where there is a ‘progress’ in the plot leaving everything to continue.
In conclusion, if you liked the first season, you will undoubtedly enjoy this one. It is simple ecchi food, not much to highlight, but undoubtedly fun.
THE GOOD. A simple but functional comedy that does not bore.
THE BAD. It is not bad precisely. The anime fulfills its objective: to be simple and does not give for more.
COMING SOON. I will finish the first part of the third season. It is said that the quality improves a lot, so I am dying to give my review
