Review of Black Rock Shooter
Story: 7/10 Interesting idea, I think this took a little bit of plot from Evangelion with the whole 'dream stuff', but near the end it definitely differentiates itself with that. Being that the story is driven off the characters emotions, its is not exactly the most logical based story, this brings me to the 2nd point. Characters: 7/10 Now the characters are really what drives the show, the main plot is driven by the way the different girls interact with each other and themselves. Although there is a plot reason for the characters being the way they are, it still appears thatmany times the characters just don't act in a way enjoyable to watch. The interactions between one of the characters and her lover, then the actions after that, it made it feel really shallow and stupid of a plot point, but again, the plot explains why this interaction occurs.
Art: 10/10
The art style, while in the 'real world' is really nothing to be noted or to be praised, although good, the 'dream world' is where the art really shines. The fights were quite pretty and having the silent characters allowed the combat to seem really mesmerizing and interesting. The depictions of the girls in their dream self was also one of the top points (though it typically fell down to the formula of: more hair - skimpier outfits - big weapons). The symbolic message much of the art provides in the dream worlds, while it can be hard to see at first (bear in mind I've only watched this once), is quite interesting and unique.
Sound: 7/10
Not bad, soundtrack had some nice songs. Past that not much worth noting ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Enjoyment: 8/10
As I stated before, the annoying nature of some of the characters brought the enjoyment down to an 8, but >

Overall: 8/10
>I'd still recommend this show. There are its flaws, and one of the big reasons the overall is not at a 9 for me is because of the characters. The art and combat scenes really made the truthfully mundane nature of the show really interesting.
Enjoy the show.
