Review of Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day

Well .. how can i tell you my feelings about this show .. THEY TOTALLY BLOWED EVERYTHING UP .. hopefully the initial plot was still there and they managed in 11 eps to hit my heart.. which is just amazing. Plot: 8/10. The initial plot is quite interesting and manage to create a intense atmosphere between the characters. Then .. the disaster begins. This anime has only 11 eps long but they still managed to fuck it up by putting some melodrama that was totally meaningless and stupid. Literally there is a scene were everyone is crying like babies.. I don´t know why they evendid that .. because of it, the main plot had to be rushed .. WHICH IS JUST STUPID ! I mean they focus a shitty melodrama, and the result was a rush end for the main plot, when it was actually being good. So if you had a main plot being nice, why the hell did you decided to rush it and put some "drama" there.. it didn´t helped at all and even ruined the mood.

Don´t get me wrong though .. despite that "thing" the anime still good enough to make us care in the end and actually pulled of some nice drama with only 11 eps. I've seen animes with more eps and weaker drama.

Art: 8/10. The animation is not the best out there, but the bright colours give this anime some sort of mistical aura around it, which sounded nice :D. The OST used here are quite good since they made a good mood.

Character: 8/10. If it wasn´t for that stupid melodrama towards the end, this rate would be much higher. For 11 eps i don´t request a lot of develop. Only developing Menma and Jin-tan was enough .. but no this anime decided to go "deep" with some rushed develop in every single character which just looked extremely bad.

So basically works like this: The characters that should have develop, Jin-tan and Menma don´t have quite much because the other chracters stole their screen time..

Even though the develop on Yukiatsu and Anaru is quite reasonable .. Poppo and Tsuruku .. WTF WAS THAT. Just please i'm tired of animes that blow up nice plots..

In the end, the characters ended up being not so different from the standards, besides Menma which for me, is the best point on this show. I believe, if they only focused the main plot and the 2 main characters Jin-tan and Menma, they would be much better.

Enjoyment: 9/10. This anime even though with those problems that i mentioned, is still quite entertaining. With the slow progressive develop on the action makes us want more and more of it. And this is something really important on an anime since it's only purpose is to entertain us.

Overall: 8/10. This anime has a beautiful plot with a nice drama attached on it. If you are looking for some nice drama, i highly reccomend this one. Since it is so small but still hit me in the heart :)
