My very first review; I mainly want to write this simply because Donyatsu (at least the manga) doesn't have any reviews here, and I think it deserves one very warmly. I was very bored waiting for my friend to get his game downloaded so we could play together, as I was hitting the 'random' button on a manga site. I'm mainly into the slice of life-romances, so I almost passed by this great piece of art. Cats in donut bodies? Weird. Really weird. I don't usually fancy reading manga with non-human characters, but these guys are pretty much humans. They have their distinctive personalities, though many ofthem are tied to a few traits. In the end it contributes to the comedy, so I don't have a problem with it.

The story is actually quite heavy; a post-apocalyptic world. The donut-bodied cats pop up in a world where they don't remember their pasts, and it's been three years since the humans disappeared.

This manga is really funny, filled with casual and natural situations where comedy is bound to born. It has a touch of mystery what with all of humanity disappearing. Nearly all of the characters seem bothered by this and most of them work towards finding out the truth. Much of the humor is built simply on the fact that some of the characters are insanely optimistic and casual about their situation.

I would recommend this manga to anyone who loves fluffy relationships and funny interactions and does not mind a mysterious plot-line.
