TLDR; I usually turn off my brain to but even I could tell this was overrated asf. Art- The art was pretty good for a show from 2014, 'nuff said- 8/10 Sound- The sound was okay, nothing really stood out too much- 6/10 Character- The only characters I tolerated were the purple mom parasyte and Migi. Obviously I didn't really have a strong liking towards either of them, hell I couldn't be bothered to remember the mom's name. I liked how they delved more into the whole "What is a human?" philosophy with those characters, but for the sake of spoilers I wont go to much into it.The main character was annoying and the girls somehow liked him??? - 7/10

Story- Ohh boyyy. Basically, parasytes come from space and take control of (mostly) humans, this, I think, is supposed to lead into the whole "What is a human" philosophical question, since they can control humans and look like humans and are able to intergrate into human society. But they break this theme and just common sense.
(SPOILERS BELOW)
The whole "What is a human?" is ruined when you can identify parasytes by pulling on their hair while they're humans because now you have a physical answer to what's supposed to be a metaphorical question, a human is a human when you pull their hair and their hair doesn't turn into a parasyte. This, of course, doesn't affect the rest of the plot making the ending make no sense. Why screen people to check if they're parasytes when you can just pluck out their hair?? It was shown to be knowlege that was distributed so why can't the soldiers just pluck people's hair??
(NO MORE SPOLIER)
So yeah, - 6/10 for trying but absolutely failing
Overall 6/10 because at least the animation is good and they tried.
