Review of Horimiya
While there are much better romantic anime, Horimiya does not disappoint. The story does jump around quite a bit from different couple to couple but it's not hard to follow and it deals with real issues without the usual forced humor or ecchi scenes. What is nice is that more than a few characters make actual progress getting closer to the people they like or confessing their feelings unlike some stories where it takes them 100 chapters to hold hands then another 100 to say I like you. Some characters might irritate you because they are so shy and ignorant about the opposite gender (not onlythe guys here) while some will surprise you with their fetishes or emotional strength. All in all, it's a mixed bag of good and bad.
Art is fine, while the sound is better than expected.
As for the downsides of the whole thing, while it adapts the manga rather well it also skips a lot of stuff so some relationships suddenly jump ahead by quite a bit from being embarrassed to hold hands to suddenly her sleeping with her head on his crotch (not naked).
The other things is that since it's only the first season the full story is just starting, many of the romances haven't properly started so the ending isn't all that "forever after."
