Review of Chainsaw Man
A retrospective review of Chainsaw Man Before I start the review, I need to give you some context I found CSM through it's hype back in 2022. Watched the first season, enjoyed it, moved on with life. I expected S2 by 2024. It is now 2025, and I have are some trailers for the upcoming movie. So, back in 2024, my patience ran out and I decided to read the manga. As of now, I'm currently reading CSM Part 2. CSM made me a manga reader. I rewatched S1 a while ago. Now, I can see the complaints. The anime has some anime-only scenes and has cuta scene in S1E2, but the anime is not a bad adaptation in any way, in my opinion. The reason I like the anime (more than the manga) are the additional content. The slice of life scenes with Aki, Power and Denji. I hope these scenes stay in future seasons.
I don't think CGI is a problem. I thought the CGI titans were fine in AOT and Mappa has done an incredible job. My favourite episode is where Denji and Humeno eat together.
Overall, I just love this story a lot. It means a lot to me. So, even almost 3 years later, Chainsaw Man holds up.
