I should give this a 3, but the first couple of episodes held my interest, so I'll give it a 5. The Good: - Narsena is a good character. She's plucky and cute, and skilled enough while actively looking to improve. - At first, you want to see exactly what Laust has up his sleeve. How does he operate? How has he come to be that way? What is his connection to Narsena? Why does his hair look like it belongs in a '90s boy band, and his face on a mannequin? - The conniving, greedy guild lady is a fun touch. The Bad: - The animation starts of lackluster, andis a half-hearted slide show by the end. Seriously, did they run out of budget? Were they pooling their lunch money to keep the lights on?
- Same goes for the plot.
- There is no real mystery, only deus ex machina.
- There are too many characters, many of them unreasonably mean-spirited, none of them decently explored.
- There is no world-building, only on-the-spot exposition.
