Review of The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 3
This review will first tackle a little bit of season 1 and season 2 before entering into season 3, sharing a bit of my thoughts regarding 1 and 2. Season 1's plot was very nice, particularly how the author portrayed Naofumi's pain, betrayal, relationships, and changes etccc, as a viewer it really felt realistic and emotionally engaging. Especially Naofumi's growth it can be clearly seen and fun to watch. However, as it entered into Season 2 the pacing of the plot felt strange, its really not about the skipping of plot, but somehow its impact its greatly lessen as compared to Season 1, I knowbecause after I watch Season 2 I remember losing interest to wait for another Season and rewatching it felt the same. Though one nice thing about Season 2 is its fighting scenes it really shows that they put effort in creating them. Though I am not a professional in that field, its only from my opinion, but its just so comparable to other isekai animes, cause many recent isekai fighting scenes are crap and I am not exageratting they are really crap and not even worth watching, but in Shield Hero its different, you can see them putting effort in drawing out the detail of the battle and you can also clearly see the struggle of Naofumi in the battle making the fighting scenes not monotonous.
Alright Season 3 is intriguing, I didnt expect it to renew my desire to look forward and hope for a Season 4. Season 3's plot slowed down a lot, and its not slow on the negative side, they tried to explain the details slowly regarding new added informations (well what they are I will not be revealing its best you watch them because I recommend Season 3) and because of that I appreciate that pacing. Also how they portray the story really feel like Season 1 again. New relationships, new possible romances, opening by a character regarding a very wonderful question to Naofumi and seeing his reaction on that question is amazing, quality fighting scenes. What I like most is how they properly address of the coming together of the Cardinal Heroes, this had been a worry for me since Season1, like what if they have to work together what if the other Cardinal Heroes will steal Naofumi's spotlight, but how they address it in Season 3 was epic, it didnt steal the spotlight at all but instead it actually put Naofumi as there top 1 and making them more of a important background character feel which is nice, because the MC is our Shield Hero after all. Lastly, the cliffhangers at the end isnt so incomplete making the viewers scratch there head, but they are able to reveal partly and at least satisfy some frustration enough to not feel bad but also give rise to a good amount of fuel to look forward to Season 4.
Nice job to all those that make this anime, thanks for an epic piece. REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO SEASON 4 WHEN ALL THE CLIFFHANGERS CAN BE ANSWERED. Hopefully, its nice as S1 and S3 hehe
