Story: 8/10 Art: 9/10 Sound: 9/10 Character: 10/10 Enjoyment: 9/10 Overall: 10/10 By far the best written anime I've ever seen. I am by no means an Asuka simp, but Asuka's like the 2nd most tolerable tsundere out there. Shinji & Misato are by far the two best characters, because Misato is selfless af as she takes care of both Shinji & herself all at once. I also love how monotone Rei is, & the only thing I didn't like character wise was Asuka practically taking issue's out on Shinji making her look like a bully. But the interaction between Shinji & Asuka is probably the best part about this anime, because it's so realistic. Asuka is teasing & confusing the hell outa Shinji, in one scene, she's nagging at him, but then in another scene, she's asking to kiss him cause she's bored. And it really hits me personally, because I went through some similar shit in sophomore year with a girl named Amelie (who was my middle school ex btw), & much like Asuka, she would tease me, get pissed at me, & lowkey confuse me wondering, does she really like me, or she just pulling my leg? So when it comes to characters, its the greatest written characters I've ever seen. I also really enjoy the forest surrounding the town setting, & the fact that this show has both comedic & very serious moments at the same time. I never understood why Hideaki got a bunch of shit for this one, I loved both the show & The End Of Evangelion, & he fact that this was influenced from his personal life only makes it feel more real. Either way, if your looking for an anime that's 800 times more character driven than story driven, then this is one is right up your alley.
