Review of Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day
This is probably going to be my one and only review here, so buckle up. This series is so criminally overrated. It is melodramatic dreck. None of the characters have a meaningful, interesting, believable, or well done arc. They are just a mess of people. I had high hopes in the first few episodes because it felt good to see old friendships restored, so the setup was good, but they failed to actually do anything with the characters. There is no real story here. Things happened to the characters and then because they cry and are sad about something we are supposed to feel sad aswell? Its dreck.
I think there should be some kind of crying-porn tag for series because that is the only thing I can image accounts for the high score. Riding the waves of melodrama in hopes of crying.
