Review of Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day

-- Childhood friends separated because of an untimely death. She's come back to reunite them. Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae o Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai (We Still Don't Remember the Name of the Flower We Saw That Day) takes place 10 years after the accidental death of the glue that had held them all together. Jinta "Jintan" Yadomi was an outgoing & energetic young boy, but after the death of his past love, Meiko "Menma" Honma, he has resorted to becoming a hikikomori, refusing to go to school & confining himself to his home. He begins to see her again, & once Naruko "Anaru" Anjō, one ofthe former Super Peace Busters visits him, he realizes he's the only one who can see her. Anaru thrusts him back into reality, persuading him to go to school, & in turn he runs into Atsumu "Yukiatsu" Matsuyuki & Chiriko "Tsuruko" Tsurumi who were once his friends but now go to an elite school, thinking more highly of themselves over Jintan & Anaru. Tetsudō "Poppo" Hisakawa the last of the living Super Peace Busters, suggests that all of them should hang out again at the old 'hideout'. They all come & Yukiatsu makes a shocking declaration, that he has seen Menma. But the truth is...!
