Damn. This show was something else. As far as the art goes, I can see why some people might be weary as to watch it, but I feel that it adds a sense of comfort as you continue the series. The soft strokes of animation bring nostalgia from older animations. The long episodes are formatted so that with each episode you see the specific ark completed, and you get to see character development which is truly noticeable. I think that this is the part of the story that keeps you attached the most. Following Togame and Shichika on their year long journey, you see howthey develop, more specifically Shichika, and how they become the ideals of each other. This makes the ending so much more powerful. The shortcomings of this series lie in some of the less explained aspects, as with any other light novel adaptation, there is information that cannot be explained in detail with the allotted time. However, I feel that the lack of certain information did not take away from the pleasure. I think that the most important part of any series is how much you enjoyed it. The production can be the best ever, but if the enjoyment is not top tier, then the show is not worth watching. I can say, regardless of any minor shortcomings, that this show is enjoyable. This series is now my go to recommendation and is going on the top of my list. I hope that you enjoy it too!
