Review of Durarara!!
Durarara!! is a pretty interesting show. It might takes some time getting use to the progression of the story line but its not too bad. The story line is simple but it involves many characters like a headless bike rider in the Ikebukuro district of Tokyo that is searching for her lost head as while working as a transporter of various odd end jobs, which lead to very interesting situation for her and the other characters. The story is also about three freshmen high school students in a weird love triangle that are each hiding secrets from one another that could possibly end their friendship.A cunning support character by the name of Izaya Orihara, an information broker that loves manipulating people, start a chain of events that intertwine all the characters. If you like anime with gang wars, yakuza, mystery, fantasy, technology and comedy then this is up your alley.
After watching the first season of Durarara!!, I believed that the show did not have a proper plot and that it was all just a mashup of many characters stories. Initially, I was annoyed by the method in which the story progressed; for example you wouldn't realize that 4-6 episodes occurred at the same time or in a very short time span of one another; but I came to realize that that this is one of the interesting aspects of the show so give this anime a try. After finishing the Durarara!! sequels of Shou, Ten, & Ketsu, I was happy to see that the show actually had a plot with very interesting characters that will keep you interested throughout the whole series. I consider Durarara!! and its sequels as one show that was split into 4 arcs, each arc explaining events that take place in relatively the same amount of time. Hope you enjoy it as I did.
