Anime is not always praised for its writing, in fact, in many cases the thing that holds them back more than anything are uninspired stories, and bland interactions between characters. This is not the case for Bakemonogatari. This show, has some of the most intelligent and engaging banter between characters that I have seen, destroying the stereotype that many animus fall in line with. The stores are fun, and introduce you to characters and a world that sucks you in and manages to get you invested in these fanciful characters, even though each one of them is out of this world in one way oranother. The story (I won't go too far into detail in order to avoid spoilers) revolves around our main character Araragi Koyomi, and the people and apparitions he meets along his path. The anime is separated into parts, each part introducing a new character, all of which have a unique flair, and all of which are enjoyable to watch.

This is one of studio shafts works, and as such you can expect an eccentric art style to accompany everything they do, and though that style may or may not work for every type of anime experience (this of course is subjective to the viewer at hand) it does a good job combined with the equally eccentric story, to help the immerse the viewer in the world of Bakemonogatari. The artwork of this anime is all beautiful and the few but weighty action sequences are all choreographed excellently, and help to make this an experience that shouldn't be missed.

The sound and score, like everything I've already talked about is top notch, with good voice acting (one of the characters in the show even breaks the fourth wall to remind us of this), which in this anime is fairly crucial due to the fact that the majority of the time spent watching this anime will be spent watching these characters interact and talk to each other. Thankfully due to witty and engaging dialogue throughout the whole show (no dips in quality) the time spent watching this will be thoroughly enjoyed. Moving on to the score, its also fantastic, and does its job to capture the essence of this fanciful world .

In summary I loved my time with Bakemonogatari, and fell in love with it and its characters over the 15 episodes provided to me. I think that this is an experience that shouldn't be missed, by anyone who likes a good story, and bit of action, intrigue, and romance. This has all of that, and more.
